Meet Your Midwife

I was born in Lethbridge and love everything about southern Alberta, from the vast wind-swept prairies to warm chinook winds, deep crevassed coulees, majestic mountain views and everything in between. I married my teenage sweetheart and together Patrick and I have nine children and eight grandchildren (and counting). Family time is something I truly cherish as well as warm hugs, sunshine, laughing, playing games, being outdoors, trying new things and travelling the world. Raised in a family of strong women, where birth is revered and women are empowered, I have been blessed with amazing opportunities to likewise support and empower other women and families through their own pregnancy and birth process and through the wonderous transition into parenthood. For years, I have served families in Alberta as both a Registered Nurse as well as a Registered Midwife and have always felt honored to share such intimate and life changing moments with women and their families. My journey as a midwife began at the young age of 17, as I witnessed my mother birth another sweet baby sister in our home and observed the tender care and comfort she received at the hands of midwives. A spark ignited and my path was set. For the next three decades, I continued to pursue my midwifery passion and have had the same privilege of serving women, their families and catching their babies in places around the world including Jamaica, Haiti, United States, the Netherlands and Canada. My goal is to develop a relationship of trust and confidence that allows women to feel supported, heard and informed so they can make personal choices while feeling respected and honored as the primary decision maker for themselves and their babies. I believe these build relationships of trust and strengthens families while encouraging responsibility for your own birth journey. As I have always said, “Knowledge is power…when applied”. I embrace every birth as a unique experience and look forward to helping you and your family on your own personal journey through pregnancy, birth and parenthood.
